Featured Services

When a memorial has already been placed in a cemetery, Rudez Granite & Bronze can add inscriptions, photographs, vases and other products to update and enhance the appearance of an existing memorial. These services are often performed on-site and completed with the same precision and craftsmanship as memorials coming directly from our manufacturing facilities. Potential inscriptions that can be added to an existing memorial include:

If your memorial contains “19” as the year of death, do not worry. Our skilled craftsmen can remove the “19” and carefully place the desired inscription in its place.

In addition to inscriptions, we are also called upon to enhance the beauty of an existing memorial with the use of photographs, granite or metal vases and even additional granite pieces. These services help to produce a memorial that is unique in style, design and character.

Occasionally, there are exceptions when we may require the removal of the memorial and transportation to one of our manufacturing facilities.

Stone Cleaning

Granite memorials are everlasting structures that are designed to withstand the test of time. Unfortunately, the longevity of these memorials also exposes them to years of accumulated air pollution, dirt and grass clippings. Similarly, many families have voiced concern that installing a beautiful new monument on a family plot may overshadow older monuments on the same cemetery plot or even on adjacent family plots. When this occurs, we offer a Stone Cleaning process that can dramatically restore the appearance of older monuments.

Bronze Refurbishing

Bronze memorials, statues and plaques are designed to withstand the test of time. Unfortunately, the longevity of a bronze product also allows for years of corrosion, or tarnish. Tarnish, also known as patina on bronze products, is a thin layer of corrosion that forms over bronze and other similar metals as the outermost layer undergoes a chemical reaction. This is most commonly due to the effects of oxygen in the air. When this occurs, the bronze surface may be cleaned with a mild solution but the ability to restore the bronze back to its original appearance by this method is virtually impossible. Fortunately, our craftsmen have the ability to renew older bronze products back to their original form. We have refurbished bronze on family memorials, civic projects, signs, statues and historical plaques. Our ability to turn back the hands of time and restore the original appearance can be seen in the photographs below.

Memorial Resetting

Continuous excavation on cemetery grounds, improper memorial seals and inferior foundations are the most common reasons that older memorials begin to move from their original placement. When this occurs, Rudez can correct this problem by taking one or more of the following actions:

Landscaping Detail

In addition to decorative topsoil and grass seed, Rudez can enhance any burial site or memorial setting with a variety of landscaping details. This could include, but not limited to, flowers, decorative mulch and pavers.

Other Services

Computer-aided design, also known as CAD, is the use of computer technology for the process of design and design-documentation. CAD software provides the user with input-tools for the purpose of streamlining design, drafting, documentation, and manufacturing processes. CAD output is often in the form of electronic files for print or machining operations.

Many granite manufacturers’ and quarries utilize CAD software in the design and fabrication of a granite memorial. However, many memorial retailers, and even the customer, do not participate in this critical stage of memorial design. Sadly, it is not uncommon for consumers to make a purchase that might costs thousands of dollars and all they have to show upon leaving a retailer’s office is something that may resemble the following:

The selection of a monument is indeed a specialized purchase. At Rudez Granite & Bronze, not only do we keep the memorial selection process as comfortable and low pressure as possible, we also encourage you to be highly involved in the actual creation. Your active participation in the CAD phase will ensure that your selections are an accurate portrayal of the person’s life. Most importantly, you can view these selections taking shape on a large, wall mounted, flat screen television.

The CAD system utilized at Rudez is one of the finest available in the memorial industry. This system gives our customers the most modern, up-to-date capabilities by offering unlimited styles, shapes, tops, finishes, carvings and lettering styles. While many of these decisions are never easy, your thoughts, ideas and personal touch will come to life right before your eyes. Your imagination is the only limitation.

Our knowledgeable staff will offer assistance in putting together a finalized comprehensive design while always keeping your thoughts and budget in mind. Quite often, several proofs are created for you to review based on your ideas, input and active participation in the computer-aided design. The final product most certainly will be an everlasting tribute recognizable by your own personal touch.

In early 2008, the family of Leonard Bailey, Jr. came to Rudez Granite & Bronze looking for a way to memorialize their late husband and father who had passed away on September 12, 2007. Mr. Bailey, who was chief of the local fire department, died tragically in the line of duty while responding to a fire call in the early morning hours. In addition to his role as the local fire chief, Mr. Bailey also owned and operated Lenny’s VW Shop, a garage specializing in servicing and repairing Volkswagen automobiles.

Upon their initial visit, the Bailey family had no idea as to the type of memorial that would be most suitable to honor their late husband and father. They were uncertain about the granite color, the size, the style, the finish and, for the most part, many other decisions relating to the creation of a memorial. They did, however, know two things. First, they wanted to pay tribute and somehow incorporate Mr. Bailey’s lifelong devotion to the fire department into the memorial design. Second, they wanted to recognize his dedication to his business and lifelong trade of servicing Volkswagen vehicles.

After several visits and consultations with our professional staff, it was determined that a deep red granite would be most suitable for this memorial symbolic of the deep red color associated with fire trucks. It also became apparent that the primary theme of the memorial would revolve around Mr. Bailey’s dedication and service to his Volkswagen business. Lastly, his status as fire chief in the community and his lifelong association with the fire department should be a central part of the final memorial.

With the thoughts and discussions with the Bailey family in mind, our design team went to work. We requested the Volkswagen Beetle Model Car that the family had mentioned in one of the prior consultations. We requested information about the fire department in which Mr. Bailey was the chief. From that point forward, the Bailey family entrusted Rudez to formulate a conceptual design that would be the basis of the final memorial. What you will see below is the ability of our professional staff to utilize CAD Design to transform simple thoughts and ideas into a highly personal, beautiful and everlasting memorial.
